JPMerc delivers world class IT services to our clients using a model that we call The Complete IT Department. The obvious first question is always, “what does Complete IT mean?”
The IT services industry (of which JPMerc is a member) likes to call us an MSP. MSP stands for Managed Service Provider. The word “managed” is in contrast to the way the majority of IT service providers have operated for the last 20 – 30 years. Unmanaged support goes by many names, including reactive, responsive, time & materials (T&M), hourly, and call-us-when-it-catches-on-fire, to name a few.
As a Board member I helped the MSP Alliance, which is the world’s largest professional association and certifying body for the Managed Services Industry, define managed services.
Managed Services is the proactive management of an IT (Information Technology) asset or object, by a third party typically known as an MSP, on behalf of a customer. The operative distinction that sets apart an MSP is the proactive delivery of their service, as compared to reactive IT services, which have been around for decades.
As an MSP, JPMerc takes a proactive approach. But Complete IT is much more than that. JPMerc operates much more like an internal IT department than a typical outsourced IT service provider, and the main factor that differentiates the two is ownership.
If a reactive provider charges you money (in the form of an hourly rate) to fix your IT problems when they happen, what incentive do we have to prevent problems from happening?
As your Complete IT Department, we charge a fixed fee to keep all of your systems running optimally, and we are on the hook to fix anything that breaks without charging you anything additional. Our only business goal is to keep you up and running smoothly.
The contrast is huge! Under Complete IT, we do better when you have very few problems. So do you!
Complete IT is proactive and does a much better job aligning financial incentives, but how does it actually work?
Complete IT is a better business model for you that incentivizes us to keep you up and running every day. We are better because we have to be. For more information about The Complete IT Department call us directly at (508) 986-9005 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
